The COVID-19 situation is impacting the daily operations of certain county and other jurisdictional agencies that we rely upon to provide documents and information to us.
At this time data currency within the DataTrace® System, the county 'plant through dates' have been minimally impacted. We expect changes to occur. We continue to receive data and images as normal for most counties; however counties experiencing disruptions may result in delays for document image availability leading to an impact to ‘plant through dates’.
You are likely aware of the ALTA county website for county service disruption (link below). DataTrace will also be maintaining our own county information to keep you updated on data availability, specifically as it pertains to the currency of our title plants and ‘plant through dates’. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided, DataTrace cannot guarantee the information provided is 100% accurate and up-to-date. The absence of any office on the list should not be taken to indicate that it is not closed or that access is not restricted. The information is subject to the possibility of changed circumstances, extensions, and other limitations.

There are two factors with regards to county operations that are impactful: (1) is the county accepting and recording new transactions and (2) is the county providing that information to the public and data companies like DataTrace. These are the main scenarios with regards to county operations:
County agencies are open, services are offered at or close to normal operations.
DataTrace System users should experience no issues with regards to data currency.
County agencies are operating but not open to most public, walk-up, transactions.
These counties are accepting electronic recordings only. With e-Recording as the norm for traditional lending, title and settlement industries, the flow of documents into the county continues except for mail and in-person delivery. Most counties are continuing to provide information on a timely basis to the public and data companies like DataTrace. Some counties may be delayed in that ability resulting in a delay in data currency.
County agencies are temporarily closed, services of that agency are suspended.
The counties are not recording transactions. Delays in data currency will occur.
